My Face
First of all, I should apologize to my friends for being so late with this post, but sometimes life gets in the way. Now as promised a discussion about my face or rather the battle to keep my face from looking my age.
Recently I went on a cosmetics shopping spree. I needed a few things and I'd brought a list. I was looking for who had the best gift sets to go with the purchases. Along the way I got a lot of attention from a "beauty consultant" at the Estee Lauder counter. And this wasn't my first visit. But I can honestly say I outdid myself this time.
By this point I've got eye creams, anti-aging serums, cleaners, toners moisturizers, lip creams and firming lotions. And that doesn't even include the makeup. Primers, foundations, bronzers, liners for eyes and lips, glosses and colors. All to be coordinated. It's amazing how much there is to buy out there.
I hear there's something out there known as a "vampire facial". I've been told it would be great for me. If I ever try it I'll let you know how it goes.
I've developed detailed morning and night routines. And I must say that it all does seem to do something. At least my face is really clean😊. Long gone are the days when there was just soap and a wash clothe.
Occasionally I ask people how old they think I am. Usually they guess low but I think they're just being polite.
This all stems from the fact that as a newly single 50 something, I'm going to be in the work world for at least another 10-15 years. In which case it really helps if you don't look like you're ready for social security. People either consciously or unconsciously judge others, particularly women by their appearance and I simply can't afford to look my age. Its bad enough that I print things and even call people on the phone😏.
I probably invest too much in these lotions and potions. Hopefully they work at least enough that I can stay in the game until I'm ready to retire. Whenever that is.......
Don't forget to let me know what you think in the comments below. Next time exercise.
